Summer might be winding down, but there is still time for family cookouts and good burgers. I’m sharing with you today my Blackberry Blueberry Burger, or as I like to call it: “Triple B” Burger. Let summer time roll right off the grill.

This Blackberry Blueberry Burger with sauce has a unique flavor of crispy basil and sweet summer berries. A perfect grilled burger with a twist.

This burger with sauce has a unique flavor of crispy basil and sweet summer berries. You’ll enjoy paring it with CK Mondavi and Family’s Chardonnay. This wine pulls the aftertaste flavor of the basil and berries with a clean and bright finish. You’ll taste summer with this burger.

Blackberry Blueberry Burger – “Triple B” Burger

Ingredients

For Burgers

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 is the best I’ve found for grilling)
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp maple grill seasoning

For Berry Sauce

  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/4 cup ground basil

Recipe

  1. Mix together ground beef, a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce and maple grill seasoning. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, mash blackberries and blueberries with a fork. It is okay if some blueberries are left whole, but ensure blackberries are well mashed.
  3. Add basil and mix well. Set aside.
  4. Heat grill prior to placing burgers.
  5. Spread olive oil over both sides of each burger patty and place on grill.
  6. Grill each patty for roughly two minutes and turn. Cook to your liking.
  7. Add cheese about 5 degrees before burgers are done; if you choose. Provolone tastes great with this recipe.
  8. Once the burgers are done, build your burger by spreading a little berry sauce on the bottom bun, add the burger patty, other vegetables if you wish and spoon more berry sauce over the top before placing the top bun on.
  9. Take in the sweet flavors and enjoy!

What’s New with CK Mondavi and Family

I’ve enjoyed being an ambassador this year for CK Mondavi and Family. They are flavorful wines that carry a passion behind the family that is now the 4th generation of Mondavis involved in winery winemaking. It was the dream of Cesare and Rosa Mondavi to offer wine to your family at a low price, and that is exactly what they have done. You may have noticed CK Mondavi and Family has a cool new label design. I love the crisp and clean look.  Keep an eye out too. CK Mondavi is doing summer in-store promotions for burgers, buns, cheese and charcoal. Look for in-store promotions wherever you can find CK Mondavi and Family wines.
