We are excited to celebrate this Easter, “Disney Style”. I received free product in order to host a Disney Kids Preschool Playdate, and we decided it would be perfect to help celebrate our holiday fun. I have been getting our party ready by creating some fun projects. One of which will decorate our front door for our guests. This Disney Easter Wreath is easy to make.
Disney Easter Wreath
To craft this Disney Easter Wreath, you will need to purchase a 10-inch Extruded Foam Floral Wreath, 2-ct. pack of 4⅞x¾” white foam discs, burlap ribbon (I purchased floral garden colors), white mesh, pink mesh, 4-inch dowels,
Easter egg decorations, and a small Mickey and Minnie Mouse figurine. I found all of these items at my local Dollar Tree. You will also need a hot glue gun and scissors.
Start by wrapping your white mesh around the foam floral wreath. Overlap and try to cover most of the foam wreath. Once you reach the end, cut off the ribbon and glue it carefully to the back of the wreath with a hot glue gun.
The glue will be hot, so try and use the end of the glue gun to carefully press some of the mesh together to bind.
Wrap the pink mesh over the top of the white mesh, doing the same overlapping technique. Again, once you’ve reached where the ends meet, cut off the end of the ribbon and hot glue to the back of the wreath. Set aside the foam floral wreath.
Open your 2-ct. pack of 4⅞x¾” white foam discs and snag your burlap ribbon. Wrap your burlap ribbon around each disc by going in a diagonal type wrap. Giving it that “weaved” look.
Once you’ve met the end, cut the ribbon and use the hot glue gun to glue the ribbon together in the back.
Using two of the 4-inch dowels, carefully insert them into the discs. Carefully insert the other end of the dowels from the discs into the foam floral wreath.
Make sure they are separated correctly to look like a Mickey Mouse wreath. This will take a little work to get the dowels in past the ribbon. Do this carefully so as not to break the foam. If dowels are too long and go through the foam, simply cut them to size.
Finally, you will want to embellish and decorate your Disney wreath as you wish. For our Mickey Mouse wreath, I added four foam decorative Easter eggs and the Mickey and Minnie Mouse figurines. I simply hot glued each of these to the wreath.
Have fun with your Disney Easter Wreath.
Once the decorative pieces are set, you will want to use the mesh to wrap around the top to hang the wreath. Simply measure whatever length is best for your door. Use a wreath hanger over your door to hang the wreath and enjoy your Disney Easter Wreath with magic at home.
To add more fun to your morning, make this Bunny Breakfast for Easter. Pancakes with faces are always more fun, right? All about enjoying the memories. Have a Happy Easter with family and friends!
