Front porch Christmas decorating ideas come in plenty of amazing ways to spread the holiday cheer. This year I took a more farmhouse style spin on our Christmas decorating. Taking an old wooden ladder and some new Christmas decorations, I create this beautiful front porch Christmas decor.
Front Porch Christmas Decorating Ideas
If you have an old wooden ladder around your home you’re already off to a great start in your front porch Christmas decorating. If not, I would check antique stores or even online marketplaces. Wooden step ladders can even be used.
I found the rest of the Christmas decor at Target and around our home. The grapevine wreath I used was around $25.00 at Target. The artificial garland was only $4.00 at Target. The ornaments I used to decorate the garland were ones I already had in our Christmas decorations. I like using white, silver, and gold touches but you can use whatever colors you like. My final touch was the outdoor lantern which I also found at Target for around $20.00.
You really can decorate the wooden ladder however you please. I found that wrapping the garland around the steps made for an elegant look. Using ornament hooks, I wrapped the ornaments into the garland. I attached the grapevine wreath to one side of the ladder, toward the center, with a wiring. I placed the outdoor lantern on a small side table next to the ladder for a beautiful evening glow.
TIP: I like to use an uneven amount ornaments to offset the decor. Something I learned a long time ago was to use an uneven amount when decorating for a better flow.
I hope this inspires you to create your own front porch Christmas decorating ideas. There is nothing more welcoming than a nicely decorated porch to welcome guests. For more Christmas DIY decorations, be sure to check out my DIY Mason Jar Lid Christmas Tree.
