One of my favorite spots in our home is our home coffee bar. It is one of the starting points of my day where I grab my morning coffee and take a moment to breathe before checking emails, planning my day, and making breakfast for the family.
Have you ever wanted a home coffee bar but aren’t sure where to begin organizing it? Let me assure you that it can be as elaborate or as simple as you would like. In the end, it adds a nice touch to any kitchen.
Home Coffee Bar Organization
The first step to home coffee bar organization is getting an idea of location within your kitchen. If you do not have a lot of counter space, I recommend setting aside an area where you can set up a small coffee bar table for your coffee maker, home coffee bar accessories, etc.
If you love farmhouse coffee bar ideas, our home coffee bar is just that. However, I like to think that you can be inspired to add any touches of your own. I encourage you to find coffee bar accessories that bring you joy since this will likely be one of your first stops in the morning.
Coffee Bar Accessories
Let your coffee bar table be visually pleasing to start your day off right. You don’t want it to be overly cluttered but also filled with a few pieces that make you smile. I enjoy Rae Dunn and jumped quickly on the craze that began a couple of years ago. Why? Because I like her designs and they bring me joy.
I added a few of my favorite coffee mugs as decor near my coffee bar table. One says “Jet Set” and was given to me by my best friend. It reminds me of my dreams and goals to explore and travel.
Coffee Bar Table
DIY coffee bar ideas begin with the coffee bar table. I purchased a side table at Target at a discounted price since it was the display. I then painted it to the color I preferred. The paint has chipped a bit from overuse of the area but I like the rustic appeal it gives.
I feel like a side table is a perfect size to fit a coffee maker and a few canisters to hold things like single-serve coffee pods and teas.
Speaking of canisters, these coffee bar accessories are a must for any home coffee bar. I like to use a clear canister for my single-serve coffee pods so that I always have an idea of how much coffee we have left in the house. You never want to run out of coffee around here.
I do not drink tea often but it is something I am aspiring to do more of. I also have family and friends who prefer tea so I keep a canister full of tea selections at my home coffee bar. Keeping everything together is key.
Coffee Bar Supplies
In the drawers of my coffee bar table, I keep my hot cocoa supplies. This includes marshmallows. It probably sounds crazy but I like to ensure that I have everything ready. I love hot cocoa and added the hot cocoa chalkboard sign from Target this year to my home coffee bar.
I used to keep other things at my coffee bar table such as honey, stirring spoons, etc. I quickly realized that I use these items outside of just my home coffee bar so they quickly made their way back to other homes. Plus, the honey got a little sticky at times, to be honest.
In the other drawer of my coffee bar table, I store my essential oils, Scentsy bars, etc. I like having my essential oils easily accessible and it made sense to place my other “smell goodies” of the home nearby. I like to use lemon essential oil in my water or in my tea so it fits here perfectly.
Keep Things Accessible
A home coffee bar doesn’t have to be elaborate but it should hold everything you need to make a great cup of coffee. Remember that since it is the first place you might visit in your home every morning, decorate it with things that bring you joy.
Some people like to also have their coffee mugs accessible here. If you don’t store them at your coffee table, make sure you store them at least nearby. Then you aren’t traveling around your kitchen just for a cup of coffee.
Make it your own and give it the details that you enjoy. I have never seen a home coffee bar that is much like another. That is what makes them unique.
I prefer my Keurig but you might prefer a fully stocked espresso machine. If you have one of those, note that I am envious and applaud you for owning such a dream machine in your kitchen.
Enjoy your mornings with a great cup of coffee, keeping a home coffee bar organized, and smiling at the little reminders of how awesome life is. Cheers, my friends!
