Walt Disney World is an ideal family destination. There is plenty of family-friendly fun and lots for everyone to enjoy. Disney has classic Disney attractions and character meet-and-greets. However, some exceptional Disney World kids experiences will make your family trip even more memorable. So, here is a look at five enjoyable experiences to enjoy with kids on your next Disney World visit.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
The ultimate Disney princess makeover experience is such a fairy tale moment because it’s a dream come true. It’s the best way to prep for a royal engagement at Cinderella Castle or a day of fun and fantasy.
Princes and princesses get the royal treatment as they get hair and makeup treatment and their princess gowns and accessories complete the transformation. It’s like having your very own Fairy Godmother. For these Disney World kids experiences, visit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney Springs, Disney’s Grand Floridian, or inside the Magic Kingdom.
Our daughter and son both experience Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. It was our daughter’s birthday and it couldn’t have been more of a magical experience while at Walt Disney World. There are a variety of packages of which we chose The Deluxe Castle Package. Currently, this package runs at $229.95 plus tax (prices subject to change).
While this is a bit of an investment, I think the price is worth the experience. I would have easily spent $100 or more on the dress and accessories that she received with the package. The extra $100 or so was simply for the pampering, fun, and amazing time she received.
As for our son, he really enjoyed The Knight Package (currently $19.95 plus tax, prices subject to change). He received a lot of attention too and was sworn in as a knight to protect his sister. Something he takes seriously to this day.
Another makeover experience for boys and girls lets young Adventureland explorers feel what it is like to become a pirate. With a pirates league makeover, you can get face paint and a costume well as plenty of pirate booties. To complete your transformation to First Mate, Pirate Captain, Zombie Pirate, Mermaid, et al., You’ll receive an official name by the Pirate Masters.
There are a couple of tea parties available at the Grand Floridian. The Perfectly Princess Tea is a $300+ event for one adult and one child. It includes storytelling, singing, a princess meet-and-greet, regal gifts, and an assortment of fruits and sandwiches for kids to enjoy with apple juice. Adult companions receive signature tea, cheese selection, sandwiches, and more.
Also at the Grand Floridian, there is a $49 unbirthday party with Alice and the Mad Hatter in 1900 Park Fare. The experience is for children ages 4-12 and takes place from 2 pm-3 pm Monday-Friday.
Disney Springs Marketplace
For some fun with kids outside the Disney parks, visit the eastern end of Disney Springs. The Marketplace is ideal for children. Toy Stores and other Disney branded shops in this corner create a more kid-focused vibe than the rest of Disney Springs.
You’ll also find Disney World kids experiences like the restaurant T-Rex. Plus, economically friendly restaurants like Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express. There is even a carousel, a train ride, and Goofy’s Candy Co.
One of the favorite things that my kids love to experience is the outdoor building space at LEGO. There are usually bins filled with LEGO pieces to build and enjoy. Sometimes, there is a ramp where kids can build LEGO cars to race. If your kids love LEGO, this is a must stop at Disney Springs.
Kids will also enjoy some of the entertainment that can be found throughout Disney Springs. Many times, you will find street performers along the way. Moving statues are some of our favorites to interact with.
Don’t discount Disney Springs as only an adult inspired location. While there are many fine places to dine and enjoy as adults, Disney Springs Marketplace is a great place for kids. We even enjoy some of the pop-up shops. For example, Lefty’s – The Left Hand Store. Our daughter is left-handed and she was able to find all of the amazing trinkets that represented her uniqueness here.
Silhouette portraits are also very popular and are a great way to capture a moment in time. Artists at Disney Springs Marketplace can have these done in minutes to bring home as a lasting souvenir.
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom
One exciting and unique way to explore the Magic Kingdom with your kids is by signing up in Town Square for the free interactive game Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. This magic card game uses interactive windows to help Merlin Defeat Hades in his attempt to take over the Magic Kingdom.
There are several quests to complete throughout your day, and it’s a terrific way to add some extra fun as you make your way around the park.
Also, be sure to check at the Magic Kingdom Fire Station during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Usually, you can pick up a special edition Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card for the special evening. One per person as they mark your wrist band.
These are just a few of the experiences that kids will love during a family trip to Walt Disney World. Memories are the most important thing that we bring back with us from vacations together. Each of these experiences is sure to lock in many memories to last a lifetime. Not only for the kids but for the adults as well.
