Alaska Airlines debuted the newest member of their fleet on Saturday, May 5th, and it is one “Incredible” addition. Disney•Pixar’s Incredibles 2 opens in theatres June 15th and this “Alaska Airlines Disney Pixar Plane” is just in time. The best thing about the debut of this special-edition plane was that I got to be a part of it and couldn’t wait to share it with you!
During the tenth annual Aviation Day here in Seattle, over 2,000 Puget Sound-area youth got a behind-the-scenes peek at the aviation industry. This free event is geared toward students ages 13-18. From scouts to ROTC, it was awesome seeing so many young people interested in the aviation industry. More than 350 Alaska Airlines’ employees and partners, representing 25 aviation-related careers, took part in the event.
I watched many of these employees, from engineers to pilots, taking time to explore aircraft, engines, and more with everyone. There was genuine passion behind what this day is made of.
Funny enough, my first words were “airplane” and I have always been fascinated with aviation. I had a moment to talk with a few pilots while at the event and I have a new bucket list item of gaining my pilot’s license one day. I could have sat there on the tarmac all day watching the planes come in and out of Sea-Tac Airport. It is fascinating to see the grandeur and power of an aircraft so close.
Alaska Airlines Disney Pixar Plane Debut at Sea-Tac
One of the awesome things about living near Sea-Tac Airport is that Alaska Airlines is based here. That is how I had the opportunity to see the debut of the Alaska Airlines Disney Pixar Plane. I am thrilled it features our favorite Incredibles family in honor of the upcoming film.
Alaska Airlines employees are just as excited as we are about this new addition. I noticed staff stopping to also take photos and selfies with the new aircraft. The excitement of the reveal was well felt.
The hanger doors were opened to reveal the Parr family including Bob, Helen Violet, Dash and baby Jack-Jack freshly designed on the 737-800 aircraft. An image of the raccoon from the film, which is Jack-Jack’s nemesis, can also be seen hanging onto the end of the wing. He is a fun detail that can be seen when sitting at the window of one of the wing seats. Normally around seats 20-22, when I have flown Alaska Airlines.
Having this moment to see this new plane in person and now actually say “I have been on a Disney plane” was phenomenal. I love that Alaska Airlines incorporated this history into Aviation Day.

There was a lot to do at Aviation Day at Alaska Airlines inside of their 163,000-foot hanger and out. Students even had the opportunity to check out the Alaska Airlines’ training facilities, glide down an evacuation slide, and see the 737 MAX 9 test plane. Alongside the reveal of the Incredibles 2 plane, Aviation Day 2018 was a huge success.
Thanks to Alaska Airlines for having me as a part of this day. It was truly an honor to be able to share this big moment for Alaska Airlines with everyone.
Who is ready for some incredible flights this summer?! The new plane has begun flying fans across the U.S., including Hawaii. Be sure to book your next flight with Alaska Airlines to see if you get to fly with The Incredibles.
