Black Panther is now available on Digital HD and on May 15th, you can add it to your 4K Ultra HD™, Blu-ray™, DVD and On-Demand collection. Our entire family has fallen in love with Marvel all over again and to sweeten our Black Panther movie nights, we made these Black Panther cupcakes.

Black Panther-inspired cupcakes are perfect for movie nights with the family or for birthday parties. Don’t let the photos fool you about details. With a quick trip to the baking section of your local craft store and an hour of your time, these Black Panther cupcakes really are incredible to make. I’d like to think that Shuri would be proud of our creation.

Besides, I love making a great looking dessert but I’ll be honest. With kids, school, work…I do not have the time to get too fancy. With these Black Panther-inspired cupcakes though, my kids (and husband) thought I was pretty cool. Your family will too!

To get set for bringing Black Panther home, let me share with you some of my favorites about having this film as a part of your home collection. Well, besides it being one of the most awesome Marvel movies of all time. Am I right?!

Now, let’s make some Black Panther-inspired cupcakes! You just never know if one bite will give you the strength of the Black Panther. At least we can say it does.

Black Panther Cupcakes

Ingredients

  • chocolate cupcake mix of choice
  • buttercream frosting
  • black fondant
  • silver edible pearl dust
  • Wilton® Color Mist® Food Color Spray – in black
  • purple Rosanna Pansino Sugar Gems by Wilton

Recipe

Cupcakes

  1. Follow directions for your cupcake mix of choice for baking.
  2. Once cupcakes are baked, set aside to cool.

Black Panther Necklace

  1. Roll out fondant onto a cutting board. Tip: Use wax paper over the top and bottom of the fondant while rolling to keep from creasing the fondant.
  2. Cut out triangular nail shapes with a butter knife.
  3. Keeping the fondant on the cutting board and freeze for about 5-10 minutes.
  4. Once frozen, remove the shaped fondant.
  5. Using a decorating brush, lightly brush over the silver pearl dust to each shaped fondant.
  6. Set aside.

Frosting and Decorating

  1. Once the cupcakes have cooled, stir the buttercream frosting and spread over cupcakes with a butter knife. It doesn’t need to look perfect. You want that rustic look.
  2. Using the black food color spray, mist the frosting for a burnt look.
  3. Let the food color spray settle for a few minutes.
  4. Lay over the shaped fondant toward the center of each cupcake to look like the Black Panther suite necklace.
  5. Use the purple sugar gems to line the outside of the cupcake for an added touch.
  6. Let cupcakes settle and enjoy.
  7. Store in airtight container.
