Oh the joys of “re-entry” into the real world from Walt Disney World. It has been two days since I have been home from the “Happiest Place on Earth”, and I still feel like it was all a dream. I plan on sharing with you some excellent content I acquired while at Disney Social Media Moms Celebration and my time at Disney. For now, I want to give you a Disney Social Media Moms Celebration Recap. This being my second year, I didn’t think it could get any more magical, but it did.
Let me start by telling you that I did not expect to head back to Disney Social Media Moms Celebration this year. I did not receive an invite until roughly two weeks prior to the event. You can read all about my shocking experience in my post: Disney Did It Again.
To clarify to my readers, I want to be upfront about this conference. It isn’t an all-expense-paid trip, but attendees do receive a significant discount on the hotel and ticket package. As well as many other fun perks.
I was pleased to see that we were experiencing more of the parks this year in the event’s line-up. We had the opportunity to view the New Nighttime Magic at the Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom (see this show), and meet some beloved and not so beloved characters (*cough* Kylo Ren) at Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We also had a great Beach Party, thanks to GoGo SqueeZ, at Typhoon Lagoon. Complete with a private firework show. I felt like we really had a chance to experience so much more this year.
The speakers were phenomenal this year. There is so much coming to Walt Disney World, it will make your head spin. I cannot wait to plan a Disney vacation with our family once these new attractions and shows are in place. I think Walt Disney World might just be gearing up for their upcoming 50th anniversary in the next several years. It is sure to not disappoint. We’ll get to more on that in another post.
Of course, Disney didn’t let us down in treating us to fantastic food, beautiful room drops each evening and the wonderful blessing of a Memory Maker to capture moments in the park. Plus, a screening of Alice Through the Looking Glass. I truly cannot begin to tell you how Disney goes all out for social influencers. I’ve said it before, to be thanked by such an amazing company for what we do is to be cherished.
The accommodations were breathtaking again. This time, I had the chance to stay at the Beach Club side of Yacht and Beach Club resort. I cannot wait to tell you more about my thoughts and comparing each side.
I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I cried when I left the parks. I do every time. A Cast Member for a year on the college program and I still ball my eyes out. I was thrilled to get home to my husband and kiddos since I went solo. Still, there’s a piece of me that I leave behind every time. I’m thankful Disney holds such a celebration that I have the honor of attending.
It really brings it all full circle for me. From the time I said at the age of five I was going to be a Disney Princess. To dragging my poor father some five blocks to Disney Casting on our family vacation. All so I could ask how to work for Disney. Finally working for the company at the age of nineteen, and flying across the country to Florida from Washington.
Even my days at Radio Disney AM1250 Seattle. Disney Social Media Moms Celebration brings me back to all of that. It reminds me of why I love Disney. Disney gives back. Yes, we all grumble when the prices raise, but what other theme park and entertainment company truly impact the world as Disney does?
If you ever receive the chance to attend Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, please do so. You’ll walk away with not only great knowledge to share with your readers, but you’ll also walk away with the feeling of magic. You’ll be reminded just how much influence we all have on one another.
How lifting up people can make us soar. How simply making a magical moment for someone can change their entire perspective on life. It did for me years ago when a Cast Member told me I could be anything I wanted to be. Funny enough, Disney is currently celebrating a “Dream Big, Princess” campaign.
So I encourage you to Dream Big. If you’ve never attended a Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, but have hopes to do so one day, do not give up. Keep dreaming big. Put it out there into the universe. Disney sees the hard work you put into it. They see your influence. And guess what? They cherish it. One of the largest companies in the world gets it.
A huge thank you to the team of Walt Disney World Events and the wonderful people, Cast Members, sponsors and leaders of Disney who make this event possible. It has left me with a direction of where I want to be in life, with my family and my life here in the blogging world.
I am truly honored and grateful to call myself a Disney Social Media Mom. Until future posts to share all the further awesome of Disney, have a magical day!
