How to Make a Mason Jar Lid Christmas Tree

Jump to How-To

I was wandering the Christmas aisles one day looking for pieces to match my farmhouse style Christmas decor. That’s when I came up with this DIY Mason Jar Lid Christmas Tree and I love it!

Even with farmhouse decor being popular I just couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something that had a pallet background with a Mason Jar twist.

The best part is that it literally took me about ten minutes to make. Simple as that.

How to Make a Mason Jar Lid Christmas Tree for Holiday Decor

To begin creating a DIY Mason Jar Lid Christmas Tree you need only a few things.

I used an 11″ X 30″ X 1.5″ whitewashed pallet style board for my backdrop. I used regular mouth Mason Jar lids and a wooden star ornament for the topper.

Securing it all together with a hot glue gun. Make sure you always have a good hot glue gun on hand. The one below is one of my favorite hot glue guns:

The easiest way to create this DIY Mason Jar Christmas Tree is to line up all of the Mason Jar lids to create an outline of a tree.

I used 16 regular sized Mason Jar lids in total. I also lined the wooden star ornament at the top to eyeball exactly where I wanted everything.

You can see the image below to get an idea of how many lids I used per row.

Once everything is lined up properly the gluing can begin. I started with the star and worked my way down the pallet. You want to add just a few dots of hot glue on the back of each Mason Jar lid and then press them firmly onto the pallet.

Once everything is secure you simply will let the Mason Jar Lid Christmas Tree dry before displaying.

This makes a great piece to sit by the fireplace. You might even think to hang it up somewhere in a gallery.

No matter where you display it, it is sure to be a wonderful addition to any farmhouse Christmas decor.

With little time to spare during the holidays, it being an easy Christmas craft is a bonus. No one will ever know it took you ten minutes to create.
