DIY Tailgate Party Coasters are very simple to make. I purchased round granite coasters from a Joann Fabric store that came in a set of four. They were only a few dollars.

I also picked up a preserve moss sheet and black with a white border scrapbook numeric stickers. The yellow 3mm washi tape I already had in my crafting supplies, but it is easy to find at most craft stores in the Martha Stewart collection.

How to Make DIY Football Coasters

I began creating these DIY Tailgate Party Decorations by turning the preserved moss sheet upside down and tracing the coaster with a pen on the back. Using craft scissors, I cut out each circular shape from the moss. After letting my hot glue gun warm, I put a layer of glue on the top of the coaster.

I then laid the cut-out (moss side up) over each coaster; ensuring the edges were close to one another. I let that sit for a few minutes to dry.

Taking my 3mm yellow washi tape, I simply measured out the tape to one side of the coaster and cut. I then laid the tape over the moss. It stuck well, so no need to glue. I then added the “5” and the “0” from the scrapbook stickers to give a “50-yard line” feel and to commemorate the Big Game’s 50th anniversary.

Again, the stickers stuck fine to the moss with no need for glue. I also tested a glass that was sweating over each DIY Football Coasters to ensure the stickers and moss held up just fine.
