Great Wolf Lodge Water Park has become one of our favorite travel destinations as a family. I have shared several times why we love Great Wolf Lodge but I want to share a special story today because I feel like Great Wolf Lodge Water Park goes above and beyond.
Great Wolf Lodge Water Park Goes Above and Beyond
It feels like every trip we have had to Great Wolf Lodge has been on the heels of a struggle in our family. Most families leave for vacation to celebrate but we have often escaped to Great Wolf Lodge when times have been hard.
In 2015, we went to Great Wolf Lodge a day after my grandmother passed away. My daughter and I were very close to my grandmother and we had, had this trip planned for months. When she passed, I debated on if we should still entertain the idea of our vacation. We decided to go through with it and it was such a blessing.
My mom had gone ahead of us, without my knowledge, and had arranged a few surprises for us to help ease the pain behind the trip. What I also didn’t know is that Great Wolf Lodge had also put in a few extras after hearing the news of my grandmother. A few extra goodies and an upgraded room.
That same year, we had planned to enjoy Snowland and our family booked out a Great Wolf Lodge Water Park vacation again. A week before our trip, my father had a stroke and nearly lost his life. Thankfully, he has been recovering over the past few years but again, we were faced with choices. My father insisted that my mother still went with us and we ended up taking the trip. Once again, Great Wolf Lodge was exactly what we needed to heal a little.
In 2016, we took our daughter to Great Wolf Lodge for her birthday with family. It had been a very rough few months prior to that trip and it was so needed. Our most recent trip has revolved around my mom coming along with us and getting time with her grandchildren. This is so important right now because my mom is facing serious health problems and a recent cancer diagnosis.
I sound like we are just stricken with bad luck in our family but honestly, I share all of these moments because I want to really show that Great Wolf Lodge Water Park is not only a great place to escape to celebrate. It is also a place to lets you forget troubles and heal.
We don’t ever plan to plan vacations around needing to get away because of hard times but I think it is very important to do this. Don’t be afraid to get away when you really do need it most. There is nothing shameful in pausing “real life” and getting away from the tough stuff. Great Wolf Lodge Water Park has just happened to be the place we end up at when we need it most.
Each of these times, Great Wolf Lodge has either been notified and gone above and beyond or they just seem to know. Pack members have stopped and listened to our stories. Like when my father experienced his stroke. My family had the experience of eating in the live gingerbread house. The server was so kind to hear our story and gave special treats to the kids to make things a little more magical.
When a travel destination goes above and beyond like this, it is fantastic. When they go above and beyond while you are hurting from troubles, it means even more. These tiny moments bring healing and wash the hardships with amazing memories. Times when things feel like they might be clouded with hurt, escaping might just be the ticket.
I needed to share these few moments to thank Great Wolf Lodge Water Park for being a part of our good and bad. If your family is facing hardships, a Great Wolf Lodge trip might be something to consider. You can’t be all too sad when laughing together through water slides and enjoying moments with your loved ones.
Great Wolf Lodge Water Park has gone above and beyond for us. We will always treasure these moments.
