As a homeschooling mom, I understand the “second breakfast” rule. What is it? It is when kids who just had breakfast a couple of hours ago suddenly want a snack. The struggle is real sometimes. One of our go-to snacks are the Disney Frozen® String Cheese. A wholesome choice with a good source of calcium and protein for kids. Made with milk. Available at ShopRite. Add to school lunches or store for a homeschool snack idea.
I homeschool, but that doesn’t mean I’m not always looking for the best snacks and foods to offer my kids. We still pack lunches to encourage healthy options and keep whole foods in the house. I pride myself in being able to control what my kids are eating rather than depend on someone else.
Make Homeschool Snacks Accessible for Kids
Making snacks, like Disney Frozen String Cheese, accessible for kids is key. Keep snacks in containers that are eye level in the fridge. Healthier food choices that kids can pick leads to better snacking decisions. Having my kids’ favorite characters on the packaging helps too. As a busy mom, it saves me a little bit of time when my kids can grab their own snacks.
Save money on Disney Frozen String Cheese at Coupons.com and purchase at your local ShopRite! They are also available at Meijer, Giant, Tops Friendly Market, HEB, or Wegmans!
Storing Homeschool Snack Ideas
An idea for storing snacks like Disney Frozen String Cheese in the fridge is placing all of the string cheese in a clear jar. This is how we store them so my kids can pick out which character they want. It’s perfect for little hands to easily choose a great snack.
Another option are baskets or clear refrigerator bins. These have a lot of room to store snacks so you stock-up. Kids can still easily see their favorites too.
Even if you homeschool, pack a lunch for your kids. This teaches them how to make good food decisions for their future. As adults, we have to make decisions about lunch on our own. We pack lunches for work, decide what to snack on at home, etc. We use packing a lunch as a learning tool for making good food choices.
FREE Activity Sheets

Have your own great after-school snacks on hand, or lunchbox favorites, by checking out Disney Frozen String Cheese; available in the dairy section or snacking cheese section at ShopRite. Don’t forget to print out those coupons I mentioned above too. If you homeschool like me, these are a great option to have on hand in the fridge. My kids love them and I love them too as a healthier snack option. I have peace of mind knowing my kids are eating foods I can trust that stay with our dedication to better food choices.
Homeschooling, for me, goes outside of just teaching my kids about math and science. It is about giving them the skills to live better. A part of that learning is making decisions about their meals that are good for their bodies and well-being. Healthier snack options, accessibility for my kids to get their own snacks, peace of mind for me and saving time. As a busy work-at-home, homeschooling mom, I am all about these things. Working with Disney Frozen String Cheese makes my life simpler. A perfect homeschool snack idea.
