You know when it’s late at night and you’re driving along with the kids? It is way past bedtime, everyone is having a meltdown, and you can barely see the road. This could easily mean that you have a good amount of build up and film over the headlights of your vehicle. However, washing this off can be a pain! It never seems to come off with just soap and water. Here’s how to easily remove grime from car headlights. You probably have this item in your home. Especially during the summer.

What household items can I use to clean my headlights?

Easy fix for you. If you have OFF!® Active Insect Repellents in the house, you have your answer to remove grime from car headlights. It isn’t my favorite thing to have on hand, but it works! Simply spray a good amount onto a towel that will not scratch up your headlights and give some elbow grease. One of my favorite towels to use are microfiber cleaning cloths. Go in circles over your headlights. You will begin to quickly notice the grime coming right off. Continue to work in as much repellent as needed.

Can you use baking soda and vinegar to clean headlights?

Yes, this is another great way to clean grime from your headlights. To clean headlights with baking soda and vinegar, mix two parts white vinegar and one part baking soda. Dip a microfiber cloth or soft-bristled brush into the mixture and rub it onto your headlights using circular motions. Rinse off the headlights with water, making sure all of the baking soda is gone so it doesn’t leave a residue.

We tried it this weekend on my headlights and it totally worked! I only kick myself for not doing a before and after because I didn’t believe the tip. Lol
