I’ll admit. We’ve only had the Amazon Echo Dot for a few days in our home. I’m probably jumping the gun on her praises, but I LOVE this gal! After sharing our purchase with some friends, we were asked, ” Is Amazon Echo Dot Worth the Money ?”.

Is Amazon Echo Dot Worth the Money

Honestly, I thought Amazon Echo Dot was going to be far more expensive. I was expecting more in the price range of the Amazon Echo or Amazon Tap. $49.99 for how much Amazon Echo Dot is? I’ll take it!

The question of the hour being is Amazon Echo Dot worth the money? Yes. Amazon Echo Dot is worth the money. In just a few short days, I have been blown away by the features. The fact that I can be in the kitchen, realize we’re out of eggs and ask her to put that on my shopping list in the app? That’s enough for me. Maybe I’m pushing it here, but for someone with Fibromyalgia, things come quickly in and out of my memory these days. Having someone who can jot down ideas while I’m all over the place is helpful.

What Can (Can’t) She Do?

I don’t think I’ve found much yet that Amazon Echo Dot can’t do. She plays music by either artist name, genre or need. She has timers and alarms, can add items to my Google calendar and tells me the local weather. She even can order more laundry detergent for me off of Amazon when there is no way I’m getting to the store soon. We don’t have Philips Hue yet, but my husband and I can’t wait to upgrade to explore the features with Amazon Echo Dot.

There have been a few things I’ve noticed I have to be specific about. For example, I once asked to “play studying music”. She couldn’t understand my question. I then asked to her play “music to help me study”. She immediately played a station that is meant to help stimulate the brain. You almost have to view speaking to her like you would an actual person. Plus, try telling her “thank you”. You’ll almost have a conversation.

Why I Like the Design of Amazon Echo Dot

The design is perfect for areas like the bedroom or kitchen. Amazon Echo Dot is about the size of a hockey puck. She fits perfectly on my side table next to my reading chair. Perfect for her to read me my books from my Kindle Fire or play soft music. I love that she is compact and sleek. Plus, having two color choices of black or white, she matches any decor.

Yep, She Rocks My Socks

I was a bit skeptical about Amazon Echo Dot. Especially after picking her up. I remember the customer service agent handing her to me and thinking, “That’s it?”. Don’t let her size fool you. Her volume control is excellent, and her reception to vocal commands reaches a good distance.

If you’re considering ordering Amazon Echo Dot, do it. She’s perfect for me, as a work-at-home mom. I can easily jot down notes while continuing to work by asking her to do it. It’s like a virtual assistant I don’t have to hire. She even reads my Tweets! Yep, she rocks my socks. We’re kind of BFF’s now.
