What you need to make Red White and Blue Marshmallow Pops

  • Regular or jumbo size marshmallows
  • Candy melt wafers in red and royal blue
  • Patriotic sprinkles in red and blue

How to make Fourth of July Party Marshmallow Pops

Melt the blue candy melts in the microwave using a microwave-safe bowl according to package directions giving special care not to overheat the candy.

If the candy is overheated, it will be too thick. You can add 1 teaspoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to help thin the chocolate but do not add any other type of liquid as the candy will seize and harden.

Skewer each marshmallow with a toothpick.

Dip marshmallow into candy coating and immediately into blue sprinkles.

Place marshmallow on waxed paper until set.

Remove the toothpick from the marshmallow and use to create a small hole in the sprinkle side of the marshmallow.

Press marshmallows onto straws or lollipop sticks with a twisting motion.

Can Marshmallow Pops be made ahead of time?

These can be made a day ahead of the schedule and still be fresh. Two days might be pushing it but keep them in an airtight container until used. This locks in the freshness.
