The Lion King will release in theatres July 19, 2019, with a whole new look to it. If you are planning on having a Lion King party or are in need of some Lion King grub, this Grubbing Smoothie is The Lion King Smoothie Recipe you need for a refreshing, Hakuna Matata time.
The best thing about this Grubbing Smoothie is that it is a healthier snack choice for both kids and adults. My kids have been enjoying smoothies as their afternoon snacks lately. The Lion King Smoothie recipe is a favorite. Especially for my son who tends to be a berry nut.
What is adorable about this Grubbing Smoothie is that it compliments the love of bugs and grubs that Timon and Pumbaa share with Simba. You can use your imagination to create fun bug-themed goodies to garnish your smoothie with. We chose to do a caterpillar or grub.
How to create the grub garnish
Creating the grub garnish is super easy. You will need a toothpick and fruits of choice. We attached raspberries and grape to a toothpick to lay over the glass of our smoothie.
I also like to draw little eyes on the grubs by using a food writer. Just make sure that your fruit is completely dry before drawing on it or it will bleed. Food writers are perfectly safe to digest.
What you need to make the Grubbing Smoothie
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 cup vanilla yogurt
- 1 banana
- 1 cup of mixed frozen berries
How to make The Lion King Smoothie
In a mixer, blend all of the ingredients together until smooth. Small particles from the berries make the smoothie look even better so they are okay to leave.
The amount of ingredients makes roughly 16-ounces of smoothie so you can easily split it into two 8-ounce cups for the kids. I like to also garnish their straws with a few berries for added fun.
There is no need to add ice to this smoothie recipe so long as you use frozen berries to chill the drink. It is best served right away or as soon as The Lion King themed party begins!
This Grubbing Smoothie is also perfect to add to your fun breakfast ideas for kids. Our family is on-the-go during the spring and summer so this can be easily bottled up.
What a fun way to cheers to the new The Lion King movie coming to theatres in July!
