If you are heading to Disneyland Resort this spring/summer, you might be wondering if a Paint the Night Dining Package is worth the cost. Particularly you might be here to learn more about the Wine Country Trattoria Paint the Night Dining Package. Let me share with you my experience and thoughts.
I recently took a trip to Disneyland Resort with my best friend to attend Pixar Fest. We decided on the Wine Country Trattoria Paint the Night Dining Package for our first night at the resort on a Wednesday. We opted for the for earlier dinner around 4:30 PM.
Paint the Night Dining Package at Wine Country Trattoria Guest Review
The nice thing about booking a Paint the Night Dining Package at Wine Country Trattoria is that it is the less expensive option but I believe the menu is far more worth the cost. My friend and I together spent around $120 with tax, tip, and a $4 upcharge for Caprese salad.
For $49 per person (not including tax and tip) we had starters, entrees, and dessert. This also included non-alcoholic beverages of soda, coffee, or tea. There are some great options on the wine menu that you can request for additional charge. With rib-eye steak and salmon being served on the menu, this is no price to snub at.

I personally had the rib-eye steak because I will be honest, I wanted to get what I paid for in this meal. I was not disappointed. My friend upgraded her starter to the Caprese salad and it looked fantastic. The presentation was on point.
Wine Country Trattoria Experience
Our food arrived very quickly, despite the restaurant being well packed. Our server checked in with us regularly and did a good job in explaining our meal and how our Paint the Night reserved pass would work.
Even with additional restaurant seating being set to accommodate the Paint the Night Dining Packages and stand-alone reservations, it didn’t feel overly crowded. However, I will say, that you will be close enough to overhear other conversations at nearby tables.
My rib-eye steak was cooked correctly and was large enough to feed two people. I wish I could have indulged in the entire plate. I definitely received my money’s worth with that dish.
The dessert selections of Trattoria Tiramisu or Chocolate Panna Cotta can be overpowering for some, I think. I personally enjoyed the Chocolate Panna Cotta. It was airy, light, and a perfect creme of flavor.
The ambiance of Wine Country Trattoria is beautiful in of itself. If you’re curious if it is child-friendly, I would say it isn’t any different than most other Italian style restaurants. However, with most of the seating being outdoors, do pack a light jacket or sweater. Especially for little ones.
Paint the Night Dining Package Viewing Area for Wine Country Trattoria
As for Paint the Night seating and viewing areas, if you are looking for a guaranteed area to actually sit for the show, perhaps Carthay Circle Paint the Night Dining Package might be more your style. Keep in mind that it is pricier.
Wine Country Trattoria has an excellent viewing area just outside of the restaurant. It is standing with the possibility of a few benches. In true Disney fashion, they do accommodate for those with disabilities.
From our viewing area, we were able to get an upfront view of the entire parade. Our viewing area opened to guests at 8:15 PM in order to grab a good spot. I recommend getting to the viewing area entrance just before 8 PM (or 15 minutes from when it is scheduled to open) if you do want front row viewing as there is usually a line at the entrance. However, the entire reserved viewing area has a perfect view.
Paint the Night Dining Package Compared to Any Other Night
Now you might be wondering if there really is a huge difference between getting to a spot early for good viewing of Paint the Night and the Paint the Night Dining Package. I’ll say this.
One of the days we were in the parks was also a blackout day for a couple of the AP tiers. I noticed that the seating for Paint the Night was not crowded early and there were not a lot of people waiting to be seated in the Paint the Night Dining Package viewing area like it was on our selected evening.
I recommend checking blackout dates and possibly consider the option if Paint the Night Dining Packages are exactly what your party needs if you are more concerned about getting a good spot for the parade. Still, I would recommend the Paint the Night Dining Package option simply for the food, service, and peace of mind that you will have a great viewing area for Paint the Night.
Paint the Night Dining Package Dietary Accommodations
If you are curious about dietary accommodations, I have heard from a couple of friends that Wine Country Trattoria is very helpful with this. To the point that you might possibly not be upcharged for other starters that better fit your needs. Be sure to check with your server.
Is Paint the Night Dining Package Worth It?
I personally believe that the Paint the Night Dining Package prices are worth it. Especially for Wine Country Trattoria. We had a great menu selection, great service, and a wonderful Paint the Night viewing area.
With the crowds we experienced, I was thankful to have the Paint the Night Dining Package to ensure we had a place for the parade and frankly just a nice place for dinner reservations. When you’re wandering around Disneyland Resort for food options on busy days, it can become overwhelming.
How to Book a Paint the Night Dining Package
If you’re interested in booking a Paint the Night Dining Package, be sure to check out the Disneyland Resort official website. Know that these packages cannot be found on the app. You will have to go to the website and search there for times, party size, etc. I hope this gives you some clarity about the Paint the Night Dining Package at Wine Country Trattoria.
