Looking for Kitchen Breakfast Bar ideas for your home? I am sharing some of our family favorites in this post. Must-have items for your Kitchen Breakfast Bar that have made our lives both easier and more fun for our kids.

Kitchen Breakfast Bar Ideas
A kitchen breakfast bar doesn’t have to be over the top. We have just a few items on our small kitchen breakfast bar. They are mostly used for functionality and are easily accessible for the kids to help in making their own meals in the morning.
Cereal Dispenser
One of the first things I purchased was a cereal dispenser. Our kids love it! I enjoy it too because our kids can easily pour their own cereal in the morning.
The one drawback is that you will need to clean the area more often. Especially if you have younger kiddos who forget to stop turning before removing their bowl.
But, if you love that “hotel feel” at home, this is a fun addition.
Microwave
This is kind of a “dug” but a microwave is good to have on your breakfast bar. It’s perfect for warming pastries. Plus, if you don’t have a lot of kitchen counter space, the breakfast buffet is a perfect place for a microwave.
Keurig Coffee Maker
I personally recommend a Keurig K-Mini Coffee Maker or Keurig K250 Coffee Maker. The smaller Keurig Coffee Makers are a perfect size to not overwhelm the space.
Coffee Canister
I have said it before in my Home Coffee Bar Organization article. Canisters are your best friend when organizing these spaces. A good coffee canister to hold K-Cups is far better than the carousel holders. While those are great to visualize what different types of pods you may be serving, I feel like they take up a lot of space.
Tea Canister
I said “canister” again, didn’t I? The tea boxes are fantastic. They keep your tea fresh and are adorable. Again, they also take up a lot of room on the table.
Tea Tin Canisters are great for loose leaf teas. They are usually air-tight and help lock in freshness. Plus, they are small in size for great display or storage.
3-Tier Rolling Cart for Fresh Fruit
I love a good 3-tier rolling cart. These make for great storage shelves for fresh fruit and vegetables. You can easily roll these next to your cutting area of the kitchen when cooking and back to the kitchen breakfast bar when finished for easy access to better food choices for the entire family.
Other Items You Can Add
- Toaster
- Mug Rack
- Cake Stand to Hold Pastries
- Small Baskets to Hold Things Like Protein Bars
- A Fruit Basket If You Don’t Want the 3-Tier Cart
