When my husband and I honeymooned at Walt Disney World in 2009, we received a lot of questions as to why we wanted to have a Walt Disney World honeymoon.
Most people thought we were silly for honeymooning at a place that wasn’t Hawaii or Europe. So why choose to honeymoon at Walt Disney World?
I’m here to share with you why I think Walt Disney World is the best place to honeymoon on earth.

Why a Honeymoon at Walt Disney World is the BEST
Packages and the Walt Disney World Honeymoon Registry
Disney doesn’t have specific “packages”, per se, for a honeymoon. However, you can find some great ideas and tips via their Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding website.
Each adventure gives you ideas of fantastic excursions you can do during your vacation.
Plus, they offer a Walt Disney World Honeymoon Registry. We used this for our honeymoon and wedding gift requests.
A few of our friends and family used this Walt Disney World Honeymoon Registry to help create more magic during our honeymoon at Walt Disney World.
You can easily register for entertainment packages, theme park snacks (think Dole Whips!), and even special gifts sent to the couple’s room. Wonderful!

Magical Cast Members
You will never find a better guest experience than at Disney Parks. That is the number one answer I gave people when they looked at me funny for booking a honeymoon here.
Where else can I find a happy place that everyone loves to be? Of course, Disney did not disappoint. At meals, we were offered strawberries and champagne.
We received complimentary appetizers. We even were given priority seating on some of the rides. When celebrating something special, no one does it better than Disney.

Disney is Also for Adults
A lot of people scoffed that we were spending the adult vacation of our lives at Walt Disney World. Little did these people know that Disney isn’t just for kids.
There are spas, golf courses, relaxing fine dining, and beautiful places to enjoy.
Besides, there is a kid in all of us. My husband and I loved running around the Parks doing ride after ride. When we needed downtime, we spent some days lounging at the pool or watching the Friendship boats go by on the Boardwalk.
A Disney World honeymoon means we got to be big kids and leave the “real world”.

FREE Walt Disney World Dining
I know this can be hit and miss if Walt Disney World offers it, but if you get a chance to plan your honeymoon around a FREE Walt Disney World Dining offer, do it.
My husband and I spent two weeks at Walt Disney World on our honeymoon and this saved money like crazy.
Understand that the offer is always subject to change or be removed altogether, but it doesn’t hurt looking into it.

Romantic Resorts
If you can afford it in your budget, try staying at one of the more romantic resorts that are Moderate or Deluxe. We stayed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and oh, how breathtaking it was.
We enjoyed being able to stop off for an evening glass of wine at Victoria Falls Lounge and watch the animals from our Savannah view room.
The resort was peaceful, being removed from most of the busy parts of the resort.
Other great resorts I would recommend are:
Moderate –
- Port Orleans River Side
- Coronado Springs
- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Deluxe –
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Grand Floridian
- Polynesian
- Boardwalk
- Disney’s Beach Club
Capture the Memories
Disney has this environment that isn’t like any other place. The photos you capture are truly filled with magic. Be sure to use Disney’s PhotoPass Services.
The Memory Maker is a wonderful investment for preserving your photos. honeymoon and wedding gift requests are another fabulous option.
They offer great package prices to create lasting memories.

You Won’t Forget It
We honeymooned in 2009 and still have never forgotten a moment of the two weeks we spent at Walt Disney World.
Why honeymoon here? The magic, the memories, the guest experience, the food, the relaxing moments sitting on the boardwalk … there are truly moments to be enjoyed.
Don’t let anyone look at you funny or feel like it is too childish to honeymoon at Walt Disney World.
It will be one of the best vacations and times you will ever have. A honeymoon here is something you’ll never regret. You can bet pixie dust on it.
