Playdough with Only Two Ingredients. Is it possible? Easy enough, yes! It is possible.
This spring/summer season, we as a family are really trying to focus on less tech time and more kids activities. While we are a very plugged-in family, we also want to create memories for our kids. We want to experience new things, explore and create. This is why I’ve been searching the internet for new ideas and in turn, want to share what has worked well with you.
We’ve had a blast with other fun crafts and activities like Slime Recipe with Borax and Indoor Big City Activity.
Playdough with Only Two Ingredients
What You Need
- Cornstarch
- Hair Conditioner
- Food Coloring (optional for added color)
Instructions
- Mix one part hair conditioner.
- Mix two parts cornstarch.
- Add a couple of drops of food coloring for added color. (optional)
- Mix ingredients well until light and doughy.
- Put in plastic bag when done to keep from drying out.
We found that we had to add a little more of each ingredient here and there to get the right mix. Too much conditioner and we had sticky playdough. Too much cornstarch and it was crumbly. We did end up with a little stickier playdough than I would have liked, but the kids still loved it.
Plus, this two ingredient playdough was easy to make and clean up. Unlike store-bought playdough, this type didn’t grind into my carpet. I could easily vacuum it up and use a damp towel to wipe up. Win-win for Mom!
Join us this spring/summer in getting outside, playing more and leaving the television off until family movie night. Like I mentioned, we’re a tech family. I enjoy sharing our fun on social media and taking photos. However, we are working on taking the photos, enjoying the moment and sharing when there is downtime. More time for fun with the kids.
