Are you planning to use the Great Wolf Lodge Meal Plan on your next vacation? Here are a few tips for the breakfast, lunch, and dinner package!
We recently experienced the meal plan at Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, Washington. This package is offered at most other Great Wolf Lodge locations however it differs in what restaurants the credits can be used.
Be sure to check your local Great Wolf Lodge for full details.

At Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, the breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal plan work like this:
Grand Mound Great Wolf Lodge Inclusive Meal Package Breakdown
- Breakfast buffet
- $10 lunch credit for all outlets
- $20 dinner credit for all outlets
Breakfast is served daily. The price is based on the number of registered guests. Gratuity is included in the price.
This package cannot be combined with other promotions and must be added at the time of reservation.
How the Great Wolf Lodge Dining Plan Works
The dining plan at Great Wolf Lodge works like other theme park dining plans. Every food purchase is charged to your room by your wristband.
You can choose to let all adults in your party have access to room charging via their wristband or just certain ones.
Children do not receive RFID wristbands that have room charge capabilities so if you have older children that can purchase their own food alone at a quick-service type restaurant, you might want to request them to have an RFID wristband.
A little side note too, children’s bands at Great Wolf Lodge also do not have room key capabilities. Children under 18-years must always also be supervised by an adult in the water park.
Once the dining credits are gone, they are gone, and charges will begin to accumulate to be charged to your credit card on file at checkout.
Just be sure to keep an eye on what you are spending on dining.
I’ll be honest that we didn’t go over our dining plan credit limit. We were well under. With the breakfast buffet covered, that was a big chunk of the cost. The $10 lunch limit and $20 dinner limit were easy to stay under.
Also, a heads up, be sure to double-check your room charges during your stay. If your room is not ready yet when you first begin your day at Great Wolf Lodge, sometimes the dining plan charges can get wonky.
We had the cabana, so we were able to begin our day at 9 am. However, our room wasn’t ready until later in the afternoon, so lunch charges got mixed up a little.
The front desk was good to reverse the charges, but we did have to take time at the front desk.
The Great Wolf Lodge Dining Package isn’t as seamless as other dining packages I’ve experienced but it was a simple fix.

Utilizing the Dining Package for Larger Groups
We had a larger group of four adults and two children. The package did make it a smoother process to get everyone to breakfast, lunch, and dinner rather than sitting in the lobby trying to decide what to eat.
For this reason, I do recommend the package for larger parties.
The other nice thing is that everyone can choose what they want instead of trying to divide up cash to send with everyone to different locations.
We had a cabana during our stay and our host was able to order at different outlets to appease my children that wanted hot dogs and my dad who wanted pizza. Which reminds me.
If you are staying at a cabana during your stay at Great Wolf Lodge, you can use the Great Wolf Lodge Dining Plan to order your food.
Just be sure to let your host know that you are on the plan so they can ensure the charges are sent to your room.
How Much Is the Great Wolf Lodge Dining Plan?
At Grand Mound, the dining plan costs around $35.27 (plus tax) per person, per day. Prices are always subject to change. The total will depend on the size of your party.
Great Wolf Lodge does offer other meal plans such as a breakfast and lunch package and character breakfast. Each dining plan cost varies.
There is even a “Wine Down” service available with the delivery of one bottle of wine and sweet or savory side to your suite. A perfect ending to a fun-filled day for those of drinking age who like to pair wines.

Is the Great Wolf Lodge Meal Plan Worth It?
Considering you receive about $45 worth of food (not including tax and gratuity) per person and paying less than that for the package price, I think the price point is pretty good.
I wish it was clearer if you can utilize any additional “credits” toward things like ice cream at Bear Paw Sweets & Eats but we never received a very direct answer to this.
I also believe this package is great for “short” stays. Maybe a night or two. If you plan on staying longer at the lodge, eating outside of the property might be something you decide to experience.
If you plan on eating entirely on property, the Great Wolf Lodge meal plan is well worth it.
Where to Best Use the Great Wolf Lodge Meal Plan?
As mentioned at the beginning of this post, every Great Wolf Lodge meal plan is different depending on location.
If you can use the $20 dinner credits at the buffet, this might be the best option. Especially if you have a larger party who can’t all decide what sounds good.
We used the dinner credit for the buffet and enjoyed it. We had a wide variety of food complete with desserts.
I love the Lodge Wood Fire Grill at Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, but I feel like using the dinner credits at the buffet with children gave us the most bang for our buck.
Our kids could eat a variety of foods and not stick to the usual grilled cheese they tend to have while eating at higher-end restaurants.
The day I can get my kids to eat a burger is the day I have won the parenting lottery.

Overall, I think the Great Wolf Lodge meal plan is well worth it. I would at least try it during one of your stays and asses the value of it for your family. I believe the bigger the party, the better the value.
It is nice to know that all your meals are covered during your stay. A more relaxed vacation is well worth the price of gold for me.
This post is not sponsored. We did not receive this package or any other compensation during this particular stay at Great Wolf Lodge.
