What is a Good Age for Disney on Ice? Is Disney on Ice okay for toddlers? Disney On Ice is a wonderful event that I remember well from my childhood. It is a magical evening of creating memories when a Disney vacation isn’t within reach.
After experiencing Disney On Ice: Worlds of Enchantment last night, I am here to answer your question.
Let me first tell you a little bit about the show. You’ll have a chance to see some of your favorite characters come to life in a fun and toe-tapping way.
Mickey, Minnie, and their friends take you on a world of adventure with Toy Story, Little Mermaid, Cars, and Frozen. Adults and children alike will find themselves singing along.
It’s okay, we all know the words to “Let It Go”. No judgment.
The effects are brilliant in visually bringing the movies to the ice. You’ll love the new way favorite Disney tales are told. As for the question “What Is a Good Age to Disney On Ice?”, let’s answer that.
What Is a Good Age for Disney On Ice?
I had reservations if my two-year-old son would be interested in the show. I figured he’d last for a little while with the lights and characters.
My five-year-old daughter, I didn’t think would have any issues. Surprisingly, neither one did!
From start to finish, my son was mesmerized. When Mickey first appeared my son squealed with delight and then sat with his eyes fixated.
He never took his eyes off the ice for very long. Even during intermission, he did very well.

I believe there are enough color, music, and entertainment going on during the show, that any child above two will do well.
They encouraged us to dance and sing along during the show. This left a comfortable environment for kids.
I am not sure how other areas are but at our show, there were plenty of bathroom stops. Something that is needed with little ones. They had a restroom at nearly every arena entrance.
Keep In Mind
Souvenirs are always something worth saving a little extra money for. You will need to expect to pay around $14 for a light-up cup with slushy or $16 for a Lightning McQueen toy car.
I’ve always expected this, however. I found that my kids felt more involved when they were able to enjoy something from the show.
Don’t forget to bring a jacket!

Some event centers do require payment for parking. Ours did not at Kent ShoWare Center by parking across the street in the public parking garage.
The staff was incredibly helpful and full of smiles. It was a smooth and fun evening all the way around.
If you have a Disney loving family, as I do, I recommend Disney On Ice for a planned family outing.
I hope your children will be as fascinated as mine were. Find your local show, date, times, and tickets at DisneyOnIce.com.

What is a good age for Disney on Ice? I think toddlers to adults are perfect for enjoying the entire show.
There are so many fantastic stories happening on the ice that kids relate to that I think they will be perfectly entertained. Plus, there is an intermission in the middle of the show for potty breaks.
Seats can sometimes be a little cramped in arenas so keep that in mind if your kiddos need a place to let off some energy. Many Disney on Ice events offers photo opportunities and things to do and see in the foyer before the show.
If your younger kids love movies like Toy Story, Beauty and the Beast, etc. they will probably relate well to the show.
The stories just before intermission and the final story tend to be the longest, so if you need to leave a little early to catch the restroom or beat the traffic, that is good to know. Especially if little ones are tuckered out before the show ends and have drifted to sleep.
Use your best judgment and go in with an open schedule. With those two things, your family is sure to enjoy themselves.
Disney on Ice Tips
What to Wear to Disney on Ice
I recommend that you dress warmly for the show. Layers are best. My daughter wanted to wear her amazing Disney Princess costume to the show but to be honest I am glad we decided against it.
Mainly because it would have been chilly to wear it and the tulle would have gotten to be uncomfortable while sitting for a long amount of time.
Instead, I purchased a cute Minnie Mouse sweater that she happily wore and stayed warm with during the show.
Have Fun with What You Wear to Disney on Ice
While I recommend not necessarily go in costume, still have fun with what you wear. As an adult, don't be afraid to join the fun. I wore my Disney leggings and mouse ears.
Each of the kids wore Disney themed clothing and ears too. Even my husband wore his Disney Cruise Line hat. It makes it fun when everyone gets into it.
Create a Disney on Ice Budget for all of the Fun
I told myself that no matter what, I would allow my kids to enjoy some of the souvenirs at the show. Between popcorn, treats, and souvenirs a family of four can easily spend over $100 at the show.
However, I will say to not necessarily write off getting the popcorn or cotton candy directly through Disney on Ice vendors.
Sure, you can snag some concessions from the venue's concession stands for a less expensive cost but the Disney on Ice concessions usually offer a souvenir with the food.
For example, we took home fun characters straws that are reusable from our lemonade. The kids also got a Mickey Mouse crown from the cotton candy.
The $5.00 difference from Disney on Ice to venue vendors is made up of the fun you get to take home. Who doesn't love getting to enjoy the goodies at the show and take home a souvenir after?

Bring Cash to Disney on Ice
If you don't want to get up to get concessions then be sure to bring cash. An often overlooked Disney on Ice tips favorite. The vendors who walk the aisles in the arena will usually only accept cash and not a credit card.
This is something to keep in mind if you might be taking little ones by yourself. I know it can be a lot getting up and down with them.

Come Early to Disney on Ice
I recommend coming early and when the doors open. This makes it easier to not rush to your seat and gives you time to look at all that is going on.
There are photo booths set up and lots of souvenirs to look through. This helps from having to make impulse buys too while rushing to your seat.
